What is the job role?
We have several vacancies for Waste Refuse Collectors to work with our diverse residents and communities across Coventry, working on our new service Food Waste Collections. We are offering full‑time contracts to individuals interested in joining our team as Refuse Collectors. We are committed to building a workforce that reflects the diversity of the communities we serve. At present, we have very few women and people from minority ethnic backgrounds on our team, and we would like this to change. We therefore strongly encourage applications from these groups. Who are we looking for?
To be successful, you will need to be physically fit (able to walk up to and in excess of 12 miles per day in all weathers), be hard‑working, and understand Health & Safety instructions in English, although English does not have to be your first language.
Core operation shift start times are as follows:
* Domestic – shifts start at 7 am (Tuesday to Friday) for 37 hrs per week.
* NBBC – shifts start at 6:30 am (Monday to Friday) for 37 hrs per week.
Occasional weekend and bank holiday work will be required.
