The Position
Relief Band 5 Physiotherapist based at The Balfour Hospital in Kirkwall.

* Long‑term conditions
* Musculoskeletal (MSK) outpatients
* Inpatient rehabilitation
* Respiratory services
* Neurology rehabilitation
* Frailty and falls prevention
* Paediatrics
As part of the team you will deliver high standard clinical care, support colleagues, and engage in CPD opportunities. You will explore different specialties, build a strong foundation in physiotherapy practice, and thrive in a rural healthcare setting.
Essential Requirements
* BSc or MSc in Physiotherapy
* HCPC registration
* Valid driving licence (or reasonable transport adjustments if unable to drive)
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Commitment to person‑centred care
* Willingness to work flexibly across different clinical areas
* Motivation to engage in ongoing professional development
Location, Working Pattern and Contract Duration
Based at The Balfour, with duties across Orkney and in people’s homes. The post is a relief role, working as and when required.
Applicants must be residents of the United Kingdom.
Benefits and Salary
Band 5 salary with a Distant Islands Allowance of £1,719 pro rata per annum for residents on Orkney.
