Salary type: Bucks Pay

Salary Details: Pay Range 6 - £37,772 - £41,272

Contract type: Permanent

About you

The Pastoral Support Officer (PSO) is a positive role model for students.

S/he uses professional knowledge and positive relationships with students in order to offer both challenge and support.

The role will include collaboration with Key Stage Leaders, Student Support Officers and the SENCo.

The role will also involve regular liaison and communication with parents.

Cressex Community School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. The successful applicant will be subject to an enhanced DBS check. We take our responsibilities in relation to child protection very seriously. Access to the site is closely monitored. All adults who come into contact with young people have been appropriately checked. Our recruitment procedures follow "safer recruitment" guidelines. All staff receive regular training and updates on their obligations with regard to child protection and safeguarding. This includes training in areas such as misuse of the internet and social media, child sexual exploitation and the government's "Prevent" strategy, aimed at stopping young people falling prey to radicalisation. The school works closely with partner agencies such as Barnado's, the Police and the Local Authority to ensure young people are kept safe.

* All spent convictions and adult cautions that are not protected (i.e. that are not filtered out) as defined by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (as amended in 2020).
