We’re looking for a talented Service Information Products Officer to join our team at South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority (SYMCA). This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in shaping how customers access public transport information across South Yorkshire—through printed materials, on‑street displays, websites, and mobile apps.

About the role
As Service Information Products Officer, you’ll be at the heart of our mission to improve journeys across South Yorkshire. You’ll design, develop, and maintain customer‑facing service information across multiple channels, ensuring passengers have the right information at the right time. From printed timetables and eINK displays to digital platforms and mapping outputs, your work will support SYMCA’s strategic objectives and enhance customer satisfaction.
What you’ll be doing
* Produce accurate, timely customer information across print, electronic, and digital channels to meet operational deadlines and service changes.
* Conduct quality assurance checks on all published materials, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and consistency.
* Apply design standards and accessibility best practice across all products, following brand guidelines.
* Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to coordinate updates and distribution of printed and digital information.
* Use data analysis to inform targeted updates and align outputs with business plans and information strategy.
* Maintain GIS data integrity and produce mapping outputs that promote public transport awareness.
About you
You’ll be someone who combines creativity with precision, able to transform complex transport data into clear, engaging, and accessible information for our customers. You’ll have a keen eye for detail, strong organisational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment. Collaboration is key—you’ll work closely with colleagues and partners to deliver high‑quality outputs that make a real difference to people’s journeys.
We’re looking for someone who:
* Holds an HNC level qualification in Graphic Design or equivalent industry experience.
* Has a strong understanding of public transport timetable and map‑based information.
* Is proficient in Microsoft Office and professional design software (e.g., Illustrator, InDesign).
* Brings experience producing customer‑facing literature and working in a service delivery environment.
* Can present complex information in a clear, attractive, and accessible format.
* Has problem‑solving skills and the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
* Knowledge of GIS or similar geographic information systems is desirable.
Please see the full list of essential and desirable criteria for this role within the attached role profile.
