Overview

As a Building Services Engineering Trainee at Wates, you’ll learn about the design, installation and maintenance of the essential services and equipment that make a great building. With a focus on the technical and commercial aspects of projects, you will develop your experience across a project’s entire life cycle to understand how everything fits together.


Responsibilities

* Learn how mechanical and electrical services are designed, installed and maintained.
* Research current and emerging technology, understanding how it can be used to produce safe, sustainable, innovative and cost‑effective solutions.
* Monitor essential progress and information to support team meetings.
* Support with managing the quality of our subcontractors MEP installations.
* Collaborate with key stakeholders, including Commercial and Planning, to observe and learn about their processes for controlling and delivering a project.

Eligibility Criteria

* Be on track to graduate in 2026 or earlier with a degree in any discipline.
* Be working towards or have achieved a minimum 2:2 classification.
* Hold a full UK driving licence – location specific (details below).


Locations

* Thetford – Please note a full UK driving licence is required for this location.


Programme Duration

This is a 2‑year graduate programme offering hands‑on experience, structured development and placements across different teams.
