TeacherActive are proud to be working closely with a number of Secondary Schools across Tonbridge, Tunbridge Wells and the wider Kent area. We are actively recruiting motivated Cover Supervisors to support our partner schools with high-quality, reliable staff.
Cover Supervisors play a crucial role in maintaining continuity of learning in the absence of the regular class teacher. While this position does not require planning or marking, you will be responsible for delivering pre-set work, managing the classroom environment, and ensuring students remain focused and on task.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Supervising classes during short-term teacher absence across a range of subjects
Delivering pre-prepared lesson materials and ensuring learning objectives are met
Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies
Offering support to students who need help understanding tasks
Ensuring a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment
Reporting back to teaching staff on student progress and behaviour
Being flexible and confident working across different departments and year groups
The ideal Cover Supervisor will:
Hold CACHE Level 2/3 or have a minimum of 6 months classroom-based experience
Be confident managing classes of students aged 11–16+
Demonstrate strong behaviour management and communication skills
Be adaptable, proactive, and willing to work across various secondary settings
