Position Summary:
The Assembly Support Technician II assists with daily production needs and maintains all assembly equipment. Responsibilities include firearms and remote weapons station assembly, supporting assembly supervisors and coordinators, and maintaining 5S standards on the floor. The technician reports to the Lead Manufacturing Engineer on first shift and must work flexible hours to support training and learning across shifts.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
* Maintain machinery, fixtures, and tooling across all production lines.
* Assist with 5S organization and upkeep in the assembly department.
* Perform miscellaneous tasks to support assembly processes and workflow.
* Support line maintenance, setup, and changeovers.
* Participate in assembly line build activities as needed.
* Maintain knowledge of automated and manual assembly equipment.
* Support mechanical assembly, wiring, and plumbing of automated machinery.
* Participate in machine runoffs for new equipment, including operation, training, and inspection.
* Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, seeking engineering support for persistent problems.
* Operate CMM equipment for capability studies and troubleshooting.
* Use 3D CAD software, such as SOLIDWORKS, for simple tooling design and modifications.
* Address problems involving multiple variables in standardized situations.
* Assist in creating and maintaining process documentation, work instructions, and visual standards.
* Prepare routine reports and correspondence.
* Communicate effectively in one-on-one or group settings.
* Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, multitasking and adapting to change.
* Maintain high attention to detail and work safely following established protocols.
* Flexibility to work in other areas or facilities as needed.
* Overtime or shift changes may be required based on business needs.
* Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience & Skills:
* High school diploma or equivalent; 3-6 years of technician experience; engineering background is a plus.
* At least 2 years of experience with automation machine build, debugging, and run-off.
* Basic proficiency with 3D CAD software, preferably SOLIDWORKS.
* Knowledge of assembly line maintenance and fixtures.
* Ability to read blueprints and interpret specifications.
* High-quality work standards.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills, especially for technical topics.
* Organized documentation and record-keeping.
* Ability to manage multiple projects and work as part of a team, with leadership capabilities.
Working Conditions:
* Repetitive tasks with primarily standing (over 90% of shift).
* Shifts of 8, 10, or 12 hours.
* Exposure to manufacturing environment: standing, sitting, stooping, walking, stair climbing, lifting up to 40 pounds.
* Frequent reaching, bending, kneeling, and repetitive motions.
* Proficiency with fine motor skills and tool handling.
* Visual acuity for detailed work.
* Use of PPE and adherence to EH&S policies.
