Lead a High-Performing Compliance Advisory Function
We’re seeking an experienced and proactive Compliance Advice Team Lead to oversee the second line regulatory advice function within a UK insurance business. In this influential role, you will guide a specialist compliance team, support regulatory adherence across the organisation, and ensure consistently good customer outcomes.
You will also provide direct support to — and where required deputise for — the Head of Compliance, including participation in key governance forums and committees.

The head office location is Cardiff, South Wales with the role requiring 1 office day per week.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Leading and developing the Compliance Advice Team, ensuring timely, accurate and business-focused regulatory advice.
* Acting as the subject matter expert for regulatory interpretation and guidance across the organisation.
* Providing independent oversight and challenge on product development activities, including contributions to senior product and pricing forums.
* Overseeing and challenging the implementation of regulatory change initiatives.
* Reviewing and challenging non-financial regulatory reporting.
* Supporting and deputising for the Head of Compliance, including attendance at relevant committees and governance groups.
* Coaching and mentoring team members to enhance capability, confidence, and subject matter expertise.
* Keeping abreast of market developments and emerging regulatory themes to help shape business direction.
* Building strong relationships with key stakeholders, including senior leaders, and influencing decisions where appropriate.
* Collaborating effectively across the organisation and supporting the production of compliance reporting for governance committees.
* Maintaining documentation within a centralised evidence suite.
About You
You will be well suited to this role if you have:
* Compliance advisory experience, ideally within General Insurance.
* Experience managing and developing a team within a compliance or similar function.
* Strong knowledge of the FCA regulatory framework and practical understanding of insurance industry operations.
* A customer-focused mindset with an appreciation of business processes and outcomes.
* A proactive, initiative-led approach to identifying issues and driving actions.
* Strong planning, organisation, and time-management skills.
* Excellent communication, leadership and influencing abilities, including engagement at senior and committee level.
