At PDSA, we are excited to introduce a new Out of Hours (OOH) service at our Cardiff Pet Hospital – but this is not a typical OOH role!
Your wellbeing and work-life balance are our top priorities. We ensure a strong team support system and a manageable caseload for you and your colleagues.
We prioritize safe working conditions, providing comprehensive guidance, support, and equipment to help you perform your role effectively while safeguarding yourself, colleagues, and clients.
We want you to grow with this role as it develops at PDSA. Therefore, we are seeking an experienced Vet Surgeon with a keen interest in emergency and critical care. Motivation to support and develop Vet Students, who will assist in this service at times, is also essential.
This is a unique opportunity because we offer:
* A predictable rota allowing time for other interests
* Regular breaks, with shifts that end on time
* A pragmatic, pet-centered approach, not driven by commission or income targets
* Emergency cases only, exposing you to a wide range of clinical challenges
* No booked routine appointments during shifts
* A controlled, manageable caseload with clients from both charitable and private practices
Cardiff Pet Hospital is well-equipped and supported by a friendly team that values mutual support—whether through a coffee break, a laugh, or supporting charity events!
Additional benefits include:
* Allocated CPD support and funding
* Full payment of RCVS / VDS fees
* Contributory Pension Scheme
* Staff Car Parking
* Life assurance—4x annual salary
If you want to join an amazing team and make a real difference to pets and their owners during their time of need, we would love to hear from you.
PDSA is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive culture that reflects the communities we serve.
