Looking for a career working with children and young people? This is a great opportunity to join an energetic and experienced paediatric team in Mid-South Powys with a strong track record in supporting career development. We offer experiences in a broad range of skills like serial casting, Rebound Therapy, specialist strength training, and aqua therapy, through the medium of play/ participation and specialist skills and treatment in a form that is tailored to the individual. Our service is set up to maximise care closer to home and working towards goals that matter to the child or young person.


Main duties of the job

Our physiotherapy service provides intervention to improve or maintain a child or young person's gross or fine motor performance and functional abilities. Our services are aimed at improving activity, participation and wellbeing.

Job responsibilities

The successful applicant would be an autonomous practitioner responsible for a geographical area in mid Powys with a mixed caseload of babies, children and young people with a huge variety of physiotherapy needs. Leading on a clinical lead role across the whole team would allow a focus on a specific area of interest or development, offering opportunities for additional experiences and opportunities to grow leadership and project management skills.

Person Specification


Qualifications and/or Knowledge

* BSC Hon degree / diploma in Physiotherapy or equivalent HPC Registration Post graduate courses related to Paediatrics
* Involvement APCP member of a paediatric or related special interest group Membership or CSP


Experience

* Significant experience in the relevant field e.g. Paediatrics in a rotational post gaining broad general experience Experience/ability to work as part of a Multi Disciplinary team
* Experience of delivering undergraduate student supervision/clinical education Special interest/knowledge in Paediatrics or related subject matter Involvement in audit/research quality issues


Aptitude and Abilities

* Ability to continue updating skills Knowledge and understanding of the legal responsibilities of the profession Ability to keep accurate patient records Able to work alone without direct supervision, either clinical or managerial on a day to day basis Ability to prioritise, organise and manage own caseload Understanding of Clinical Governance Ability to understand and work within PTHB Policies and National Standards Competent IT skills Ability to exert moderate physical effort throughout the working day including working on trampolines/in hydro pools and to be able to work in a stressful environment with parents and carers and other medical personnel
* Ability to speak Welsh
