Social Worker (Adult Social Care Safeguarding)
Location: Hereford City | Contract: Permanent | Hours: 37 | Salary: £36,363 – £40,777 + £3,000 Welcome Payment | Closing date: 18 June 2026
Herefordshire Community Wellbeing is looking for dynamic, self‑motivated Social Workers to join a supportive, team‑oriented environment. This role offers an opportunity to immerse yourself in a fast‑paced and rewarding adult social care safeguarding setting.
Responsibilities
* Conduct Care Act assessments and develop person‑centred support plans.
* Perform Mental Capacity assessments, Section 42 enquiries, and Mental Capacity/Section 42 procedures.
* Apply a strengths‑based approach to empower individuals and champion independence.
* Engage in CHC and s117 work to ensure seamless support across agencies.
* Collaborate with external agencies and partner organisations to provide holistic care.
* Supervise and support teams, providing regular clinical supervision and professional development.
Qualifications
* Registered Social Worker with Social Work England and a qualifying degree.
* Up‑to‑date knowledge of relevant legislation, guidance and best practice.
* Experience working with diverse adult populations, including those with physical, learning disabilities, mental health needs and older adults.
* Drive to develop into a Best Interest Assessor or Approved Mental Health Professional.
* Full clean driving licence and willingness to travel within Herefordshire.
