We’re seeking an experienced Senior HR Advisor to join our public sector client on a temporary basis (approximately 12 weeks, with potential extension). This is a hands-on operational role focused on providing proactive HR support across a range of employee relations and advisory matters. Hybrid working, 3 days in the Northampton office, 2 days from home.
Key Responsibilities as the Senior HR Advisor:
Employee Relations
* Advise and support managers on sickness absence, disciplinary, and grievance cases.
* Ensure cases are managed effectively and in line with employment law and internal policy.
Manager Advisory Support
* Act as a first point of contact for HR-related queries from managers.
* Provide practical, solution-focused guidance on HR policies and procedures.
* Promote consistency and compliance in HR practice across departments.
Operational HR Delivery
* Support the delivery of HR programmes and initiatives.
* Maintain accurate and confidential documentation and case records.
* Assist with day-to-day HR administration and compliance tasks.
TUPE Support
* Provide input and administrative support to TUPE processes (not lead responsibility).
Skills, Qualifications and Experience requested as the Senior HR Advisor:
* CIPD Level 5 qualified (or working towards).
* Strong background in employee relations and advisory work.
* Confident in handling complex cases and advising managers at all levels.
* Highly organised, with attention to detail and the ability to manage a busy workload.
* Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hybrid environment.
