Supervisor

As a Supervisor, you will play a central role in delivering highway maintenance and improvement works safely and effectively. You will guide site teams, coordinate resources, and ensure projects meet quality expectations while maintaining a strong focus on safety and customer satisfaction. Working closely with operational leads, you will help create a positive, high performing environment where teams can thrive and deliver excellent outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and support operational teams delivering highway works on site
* Promote a strong safety culture and ensure safe systems of work are followed
* Plan and allocate labour, plant, and materials to meet programme needs
* Deliver site inductions, briefings, and toolbox talks to support team readiness
* Monitor progress and quality, ensuring work meets required standards
* Maintain accurate site records such as diaries, logs, and reports
* Work closely with clients, subcontractors, and colleagues to resolve issues
* Support traffic management and temporary works on site
* Identify opportunities to improve delivery, performance, and efficiency
* Ensure all works align with environmental and regulatory requirements

* Confident leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide teams
* Strong communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships
* Good planning and organisational skills, with effective prioritisation
* A proactive approach to problem solving and decision making
* A strong commitment to health, safety, and wellbeing for yourself and others
* Awareness of environmental and sustainability considerations
* Ability to use digital tools and systems for reporting and coordination
* Customer focused mindset with a collaborative approach to working
* Technical understanding of highway or civil engineering activities
* Relevant certifications such as SSSTS or SMSTS, NRSWA or First Aid are valued
