Health & Safety Lead
Location: Edinburgh (with some travel across regional sites)
Salary: Dependent on experience
Full-time | Permanent
We are recruiting for an experienced Head of Health & Safety to join a large, complex, and highly regulated organisation delivering services across multiple UK sites.
This is a key strategic role responsible for driving a consistent, proactive approach to health and safety across the organisation. Working closely with regional leadership teams, the successful candidate will act as the subject matter expert and lead advisor on all health and safety matters, ensuring that best practice is embedded into day-to-day operations.
Key Responsibilities:

Develop, implement and review the organisation’s health and safety policies, procedures and strategy

Provide hands-on support, guidance and challenge to regional teams to drive continuous improvement
*
Conduct regular reviews and audits to assess compliance and identify risk
*
Lead on incident investigations, learning reviews and root cause analysis
*
Build strong working relationships across the organisation, supporting a positive and accountable safety culture
*
Monitor legislative and regulatory changes and ensure effective organisational response
About You:
*
Chartered Member of IOSH (or equivalent), with up-to-date knowledge of H&S legislation
*
Experience in a senior health and safety role within a regulated, multi-site setting
*
Confident working across dispersed teams, with the ability to influence and build strong partnerships
*
Pragmatic, solution-focused, and proactive in your approach
*
Experience in people-focused environments (e.g. social care, education, housing, healthcare) is highly advantageous
