About the Role
Sugarman Health and Wellbeing is seeking exceptionally patient, kind Complex Care Assistants to form a dedicated team for a remarkable lady. This is a profoundly impactful role, providing clinical and emotional support to our service user following a catastrophic brain injury.
Your role will be central to maintaining her physical health and psychological wellbeing. Our service user is non-verbal and communicates using an alphabet board and specific physical signals. She requires full support for all aspects of her care, including airway management via a tracheostomy and nutrition via a PEG. While her needs are complex, the opportunity to build a trusting, supportive relationship and enable her to engage with the world is incredibly rewarding.
Key Responsibilities
* Clinical Care: Competently managing tracheostomy care, suctioning, nebulisers, and PEG feeding and medication.
* Personal Care & Mobility: Providing full personal care and hygiene. Repositioning and performing all transfers using a hoist.
* Communication: Patently using an alphabet chart and observing unique signals (toe/head movements) to understand her needs and wishes.
* Psychological Support: Providing a calm, consistent, and reassuring presence. Building trust is paramount, as our service user experiences periods of distress.
* Community Access: Supporting our service user to access the community as part of her care plan, requiring a driver on shift.

Requirements for the Role
* Experience in complex clinical care (Tracheostomy, PEG, Suction) is highly desirable.
* Must be willing to travel to Chester for shadowing and training.
* To provide the correct compliance documents, including an updated Right to Work.
