Purpose Statement: The Process Engineer is responsible for providing technical expertise throughout the manufacturing process. This role involves offering guidance on best practices and equipment, optimizing production for efficiency and quality, training various teams, and supporting ongoing production activities. They also ensure the manufacturability of new products while adhering to standards and lead new product introduction processes.

This specific role is Plexus’ global Subject Matter Expert for the Cleaning and Polymerics. This will require expert specific knowledge of the Cleaning, Potting, Bonding, Coating and Underfill processes, as well as advanced knowledge of other PCBA processes. Specific knowledge of common processing chemicals, liquid spray and dispense processes, basic polymeric chemistry types and properties, and a strong general chemistry knowledge are essential.

This role will lead a global Community of practice, coordinating across regions to gather and review best practices, update and ensure compliance with standards, and build technical strength amongst the regional and site subject matter experts. This role is expected to actively participate in industry to ensure Plexus stays at the forefront of evolving technologies.

Key Job Accountabilities:

1. Is visible and recognized in all Manufacturing Sites as a Subject Matter Expert of their engineering discipline; and/or is visible and recognized in all Manufacturing Sites as a cross-discipline development leader for product/ process development, process/ product improvement or troubleshooting within site/ region, as it applies to their role.

2. Serves as a technical and/or project team lead, providing technical guidance/ training and motivation for teams, controlling scope, schedule, budget and ensuring overall technical success on mid-size to large Plexus Manufacturing Processes, as it applies to their role.

3. Supports continuous improvement activities with wider impact than their own site, associated with their engineering discipline and/or project execution-focused efforts, as it applies to their role.

4. Provides customer service leadership by establishing positive and productive customer communications during technical/project discussions, developing innovative architectures and solutions to meet customer needs (internal/ external customer), and supporting business continuity engagements and new proposal creation.

Education/Experience Qualifications:

5. Bachelor’s Degree with 8 or more years of related experience is preferred. An equivalent combination of education and/or experience will be considered.
