Part of the duties will include working a mobile phone or tablet as we use the Whitespace programme to issue work to our staff. All training is given at induction. Drive other vehicles as required. Thoroughly inspecting public roads and open spaces to determine servicing needs as per the required and scheduled standards. Using mechanical sweeper to remove all litter, animal faeces and other debris from gulley’s and pavements. Use and operate associated tools and equipment as required, Clean the interior and exterior of mechanical sweeper at required intervals and Carry out routine vehicle checks. Undertake other general labouring duties, including manual snow and ice clearing and salt spreading. Observe manual handling, PPE and other health and safety rules in connection with prescribed safe systems of work. Participate in training and refresher training as directed. Complete all necessary paperwork. Assisting the chargehand and Environmental Cleansing supervisor in resolving complaints Extend politeness and courtesy to members of the public and business proprietors during the working day, leaving customers with a good impression of the council and the service. When there is no machine available undertaking all duties of a Street Cleansing Operative. Duties will be in line with the grade. The Person Hold a full UK driving license with C1 entitlement, a valid DQC and a Driver Card (Car licence issued before January 1997 have an automatic right to drive vehicles up to 7.5 tonne known as “grandfather rights”) Have evidence of training undertaken (in the last 5 years) to demonstrate your learning is up to date Be able to adhere to WTD, Drivers Hours and Company Procedures Ideally have experience of mechanical sweepers Responsible for Driving and operating a Mechanical Street Sweeping Vehicle (MSV) for the effective and efficient completion of daily work plans to set standards. You must be physically able to walk considerable distances if required Part of the duties will be to work a phone or tablet as we use the Whitespace programme to issue work to our staff You must be capable of manual outdoor working in all weathers, have physical working dexterity and a flexible approach towards carrying out a range of tasks.
