Overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic person to join our External Affairs team, with a focus on expanding our media presence. We are a growing organisation, driven by social purpose. We aim to improve the mental health of people across the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland, through furthering research and good practice in CBT and related professions.
The British Association for Behavioural & Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP) is the lead organisation for Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) in the UK and Ireland. We have more than 24,000 members across the UK, Ireland and overseas, and with a growing staff team who work remotely.
Role and responsibilities
* Identify media opportunities and producing engaging content for national, regional and trade news outlets
* Manage reactive press enquiries
* Maintain effective relationships with journalists and stakeholders
* Collaborate with team members to enhance the organisation’s aims
* Occasional travel to Head Office in Greater Manchester and across the UK as required
Requirements
* Experience in media relations or external communications
* Ability to work from home with occasional travel
* Good written communication and content production skills
* Understanding of CBT or related mental health sectors is desirable
Details
Post Location: Work from home with travel to Head Office as necessary
Post Grade: Band C – Starting Salary £37,000
Hours: 37 hours (requests for part time hours or job share will be considered)
