As a Nutritionist focused on Future Nutrition Trends & Needs, you will play a pivotal role in shaping Tesco’s long-term nutrition strategy, working cross-functionally across our Healthy & Sustainable Diets team and Product Development team. You’ll identify emerging dietary trends, evolving consumer needs, and scientific advancements to help future-proof our product offerings and support healthier lifestyles for millions of customers. Trend Forecasting & Insight Generation Monitor and interpret emerging scientific research and consumer trends in areas such as metabolic health, gut health, the microbiome, hormonal health, high-protein diets, and other evolving nutrition priorities. Translate complex science into actionable insights for product development and strategic planning. Innovation & Product Development Partner with product teams to embed future-focused nutrition thinking into NPD (New Product Development). Support reformulation and innovation projects aligned with evolving health and sustainability goals including identified health cohorts. Strategic Influence Contribute to Tesco’s long-term health strategy, ensuring alignment with public health priorities and regulatory developments. Represent Tesco in external forums, academic partnerships, and industry collaborations on future nutrition. Cross-functional Collaboration Work collaboratively with the Company Nutritionist to ensure consistent nutrition representation across the business. Provide mutual cover during periods of absence to ensure there is a seamless point of contact for all nutrition-related queries and initiatives. Work closely with sustainability, marketing, policy, and commercial teams to integrate nutrition foresight into broader business planning. Support internal education and capability building on emerging nutrition topics. Strong analytical and research skills with the ability to interpret complex data. Passion for future-focused thinking and innovation. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment. Degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, Public Health, or related field. Registered Nutritionist or Dietitian. Proven experience in nutrition strategy, trend analysis, or innovation within retail, FMCG, or consultancy.
