St Andrew’s Healthcare is a charity providing specialist mental healthcare services. We work in partnership with a number of NHS, voluntary, educational and research organisations to deliver a range of specialist inpatient and community mental healthcare services, education and research that helps to improve the lives of people with complex mental health needs.

The Role

Bank Senior Staff Nurse (RMN/RNLD) work in our Clinical areas, supporting staff teams in delivering and focusing on our Patients and their rehabilitation, daily activities and care.

Essential Criteria:

1. Nursing Qualification registered with the NMC RMN / RNLD
2. Completion of preceptorship
3. 2 years post qualified experience.

Our divisions

Specialist Rehabilitation Division Our aim is to provide high-quality assessment, care and treatment, helping patients to progress to the least restrictive setting by equipping them with the skills required to live as independently as possible, closer to communities of their choosing.

Our teams are multi-disciplinary, with extensive knowledge, skills and experience of working with individuals with:

4. Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorder (EUPD) with co-morbid Disordered Eating
5. Mental illness for male/ female adults and older adults
6. PICU treating acute admissions to stabilise and step down to a low secure environment


The Medium Secure Mental Health Division provides mental healthcare to adult (including older adults) males and females, across a spectrum of specialist mental disorders: mental illness, personality disorder, borderline or mild learning disability, acquired brain injury, mental disorder and deafness. We provide care to those who need the relational, physical and procedural security of a medium secure unit, in line with the National Medium Secure Specifications from NHS England (170042S).

We are also providing a Blended Secure Service for Women as part of a national pilot and meeting a draft service specification linked to the main medium secure service specification.
Our aim is to help patients recover so they can be treated in lower levels of security and eventually the community.

CAMHS (Child Adolescents Mental Health Services) Service – Our CAMHS is a Trauma Informed Care Service, ensuring that everything we do is driven by an understanding of how trauma affects the whole person; physically, mentally and socially. We provide low and medium secure Tier 4 CAMHS inpatient services, with the objective of enabling young people to live well and to their full potential in the least restrictive environment possible.

LDA (Learning Disability & Autism) - is to provide high-quality assessment, care and treatment, helping patients to progress to the least restrictive setting by equipping them with the skills required to live as independently as possible, closer to communities of their choosing.

Our teams are multi-disciplinary with extensive knowledge, skills and experience of working with individuals with ASD and learning disability. We include patients in planning their care, valuing and embracing each and every individual’s unique qualities.

Neuropsychiatry Service Division –is a specialist service delivering tailored care to support people with complex, acquired and progressive brain conditions.

Our services deliver tailored care for patients with acquired brain injury, complex dementia and Huntington’s disease. Holistic therapeutic interventions are used to address the Neuropsychiatric sequelae of these conditions, as well as the co–morbid physical health consequences.
