In this role, you will be instrumental in creating fully operational machine learning products aimed at solving problems at the core of our business. Your engagement will encompass all phases of these projects, including liaising with business subject matter experts, model extract generation, deployment, and ongoing monitoring. Additionally, you will contribute to the development of new tools and infrastructure for the team, focusing on cloud provisioning and deployed application management. Our team is organised into smaller, stream-aligned agile teams, each working closely with various business areas and subject matter experts to cultivate a comprehensive understanding of the business, its challenges, and needs. These stream-aligned teams are slowly rotated throughout the year to foster solid relationships with diverse business areas, whilst giving you the opportunity to develop through exposure to new data challenges and domain-knowledge problems. This is a hybrid role, with options to work from our London, Bristol, or Bournemouth offices, with a requirement to be in the office for two days each month. Pay: Circa £60,000 per annum. Pay is based on relevant experience, skills for the role, and location. Salary is only one part of our total reward package. About You • Building and monitoring end-to-end machine learning solutions deployed onto Azure. • Creating data extracts to address complex business challenges and collaborating across teams for all aspects of project delivery. • Developing CI/CD processes to help automate workflows. • Working within an agile framework, managing tickets and collaborating on joint tasks. • Presenting project findings to stakeholders and internal teams, communicating at appropriate technical levels. • Staying up to date with the latest cloud and data technologies as you contribute to building new tools and infrastructure. Essential Skills • Proven experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role, with experience in building data solutions on Azure or other public cloud platforms. • Familiarity with all parts of the machine learning lifecycle, from scoping and development to deployment and model maintenance. • Expertise in Python, with clean, well-documented, and unit-tested coding skills. • Proficiency in ETL processes for reading, transforming, and verifying data using tools such as SQL and PySpark. • Experience with DevOps/MLOps practices, including CI/CD, release management, Kubernetes, and Docker. • Familiarity with Agile Ways of Working (JIRA). • Ability to deliver projects and explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences. • Committed to continual improvement of your technical skills throughout your career. • Strong collaborative mindset with the ability to foster a positive and inclusive team environment.
