Based at Merlin's Bridge, with travel to our Pembroke Dock unit and occasional external meetings

As Volunteer Manager you will help create a welcoming environment where volunteers feel valued, confident and inspired—shaping training, improving the volunteer experience and living our RESPECT values every day.
Main purpose
Lead the delivery of FRAME's Volunteer Charter—ensuring clear, inclusive practice, high-quality training and continuous improvement across the volunteer journey.
Key responsibilities
* Develop and embed FRAME's Volunteer Charter to build belonging and inclusion.
* Support volunteer recruitment, assessments, probation reviews and ongoing development.
* Work alongside team leaders to ensure volunteers feel supported, purposeful and inspired.
* Design and deliver accessible, creative training for volunteers and staff.
* Establish a Volunteer Buddy system to promote peer support.
* Encourage participation in members' meetings and organisational decision-making.
* Recognise and celebrate volunteer contributions (events, certificates, storytelling).
* Liaise with referral agencies, families and support organisations for appropriate signposting.
* Act as a Safeguarding Officer (Category B), escalating concerns in line with policy.
* Support the CEO in identifying and contributing to funding opportunities for volunteering.
* Represent FRAME at regional events; promote the impact of volunteering.
Person specification
Essential
* Extensive experience and/or Level 3+ qualification in a relevant field (Volunteer Management; Health & Social Care; Community Development; Education & Training).
* Strong organisational skills; able to manage multiple priorities and drive improvements.
* Confident communicator who builds positive relationships across diverse backgrounds.
* Empathetic, professional approach to sensitive situations.
* Experience working with adults who have additional support needs.
* Pro-active; turns potential volunteer projects into reality.
* Understanding of safeguarding procedures (or willingness to train).
* Commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion, aligned to FRAME's values.
Desirable
* Accredited training qualification (e.g., PTLLS, AET) or equivalent.
* Experience and passion for the third sector/charitable activities.
* Experience identifying relevant funding opportunities.
* Experience handling sensitive issues and supporting people.
* Knowledge of the local voluntary sector and community support services.
