SALARY: $18.38 - $25.76 per hour.
PROTECTIVE SERVICES OFFICER Examination
Provide security for Department of Public Utilities or other Cleveland city buildings, ensuring protection of property, records, and equipment.
Responsibilities
* Under supervision, responsible for the security of Department of Public Utilities or other City of Cleveland buildings, property, records, and equipment.
* Takes immediate action to protect life and property within his/her jurisdiction.
* Performs duties and works hours as designated by the Chief of the Public Utilities Police Department or other superior and/or his/her designee.
* Assures all key assigned installations are secured from outside intrusion on a 24/7 basis.
* Performs other job-related duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications
* High School Diploma or GED.
* Private Security or Peace Officer certification from the Ohio Peace Officer Training Commission.
* Valid State of Ohio Driver’s License.
* Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 30 pounds.
* 9mm handgun 20‑hour certification preferred.
