Job Description
Purple Oak Support is looking for a motivated and compassionate Support Supervisor to join our Homecare service in Andover, supporting adults with learning disabilities to live independently in their own homes and communities.
This is a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about person‑centred care and developing strong teams. You will support the Service Manager in the day‑to‑day running of the service while leading and developing a team of Support Workers to deliver high‑quality, outcome‑focused support.
You will play an important role in ensuring the people we support receive safe, respectful and empowering care, enabling them to live fulfilling lives and achieve their individual goals.
Key Responsibilities
When you’re not providing direct support you’ll use your time to:
* Carry out regular supervisions with your team, both in person and in practice.
* Advise on the assessment of Support Worker training needs and will make sure that your team are fully engaged with their professional development with all required training completed on time.
* Play an active role in the recruitment process and will be key in making sure that the people we support have a meaningful role to play in selecting the right people to join our team.
* Support any new starters in your team through the induction and probation period.
* Keep care plans and risk assessments for the people we support up to date.
* Make full use of our computerised rostering system to make sure that records are accurate.
* Follow our safeguarding policies and procedures at all times and you’ll play a key role in ensuring that all accidents, incidents and near misses are reported.
About You
We’re looking for someone who is organised, approachable and passionate about supporting others, with the ability to lead and motivate a team.
Essential
* Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care (or willingness to work towards)
* Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
* Strong communication, organisational and problem‑solving skills
* A caring, respectful and professional approach
* Commitment to safeguarding, equality and person‑centred support
Desirable
* Experience supporting people with learning disabilities
* Previous supervisory or leadership experience
Additional requirements
* Right to work in the UK (we are unable to offer visa sponsorship).
* Subject to enhanced DBS and safer recruitment checks.
