Senior Desktop Engineer
Location: Plymouth (Building 2, Derriford Business Park)
Contract Type: Full time, Permanent (37 hours per week)
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 p.a. (DOE) plus performance bonus

We’re now looking for a Senior Desktop Engineer to join our Infrastructure & Operations team. This is a pivotal, hands-on technical role supporting multiple large tenants across several sites. You’ll take ownership of end-user computing technology - from design and deployment through to optimisation and lifecycle management - ensuring our customers benefit from reliable, secure, and modern solutions.
What you’ll do
* Lead the delivery, maintenance and lifecycle management of end-user device infrastructure across multiple customer environments.
* Drive complex technical work packages and contribute to the design and governance of large-scale end-user computing initiatives.
* Evaluate and integrate new tools and technologies that enhance user experience and service performance.
* Produce detailed technical estimates and implementation plans to support delivery and project success.
* Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers, encouraging learning and consistent best practice.
* Stay current with vendor roadmaps, security standards and modern endpoint management trends, ensuring our solutions remain future-ready.
What you’ll bring
* Professional IT certifications such as Microsoft MCP/MCTS and ITIL Foundation (v3 or v4).
* Ideally, advanced Microsoft certifications (e.g. Modern Desktop Administrator, Endpoint Administrator, or Enterprise Administrator Expert).
* Deep experience delivering and supporting enterprise-scale, customer-focused IT services in an ITIL-aligned environment.
* Strong technical knowledge of Windows OS, Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (SCCM), Intune, Apple Business Manager, and Android Enterprise.
* Proven skill in application packaging and deployment (MSI, MSIX, App-V) and modern automation methods.
* Advanced understanding of Active Directory, Azure AD, Group Policy, and endpoint security frameworks.
* Excellent troubleshooting, analytical and communication skills.
* A collaborative approach with the confidence to influence technical direction and mentor others.
* Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across customer sites.
