4 on / 4 off shift pattern (7am 7pm) | Permanent, Full-Time
Are you an experienced building services leader looking for your next move? Our client, a leading building services company, is seeking a Shift Lead with a mechanical bias to join their high-performing team in Central London.
As a key member of the onsite engineering team, youll be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of all building services systems across a landmark commercial property. Youll oversee shift engineers, coordinate planned and reactive maintenance, and act as the technical authority on mechanical systems.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and supervise a team of multi-skilled shift engineers to ensure all building services are maintained to the highest standard.
* Oversee PPM (Planned Preventive Maintenance) and reactive works across HVAC, plumbing, pumps, AHUs, and associated mechanical systems.
* Ensure compliance with all site safety procedures, statutory requirements, and company policies.
* Liaise with the Facilities Management team and external contractors to deliver efficient maintenance and repair solutions.
* Provide hands-on technical support when required, with a focus on mechanical systems.
* Complete all shift reporting, handovers, and documentation accurately and on time.
About You
* Recognised mechanical or building services qualification (e.g. NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent).
* Strong technical knowledge of HVAC and mechanical systems within commercial buildings.
* Proven experience in a critical or commercial building environment, ideally within a shift-based team.
* Confident in leading and motivating a team of engineers.
* Excellent communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills.
