Absolute Law Recruitment is working with an exceptional firm in the Richmond area that is looking to appoint a Paralegal into their Conveyancing team. Working for this leading law firm with a regional presence, you will handle conveyancing matters as required by the firm and its clients.
Responsibilities
* Dealing with Post Exchange matters (except for financial statements) and handling completions.
* Handling all work efficiently and in accordance with the firm’s professional standards and client care guidelines.
* Dealing effectively with client queries by telephone or by clear and detailed letter.
* Organising diary and prioritising work.
* Dealing courteously and efficiently with estate agents, mortgagees, and solicitors/conveyancers acting as linking transactions.
* Agreeing and meeting budgeted fees and profit targets where applicable.
* Registering properties with HMLR using their online portal.
* Submitting HMRC SDLT returns and making payment.
* Replying to enquiries on a sale.
* Reviewing replies to enquiries on a purchase (with the assistance of a fee earner where necessary), reviewing and reporting on searches, and corresponding with lenders.
Qualifications
* Proven experience with at least 1 year of conveyancing expertise working as a Paralegal within a busy Conveyancing department.
Skills & Abilities
* Multi‑task and remain calm under pressure.
* Work on your own initiative as well as in a team environment.
* Organise and run a busy caseload and meet deadlines.
* Be diligent and conscientious in your approach to work.
* Manage a busy workload and prioritise.
* Stay calm under pressure.
* Have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
