Job Summary
Role Title: Lecturer in Technical Construction
Location: Bersham Road, Wrexham
Contract Type: Permanent, Full Time
Salary scale: £33,596 - £51,932 (pro rata based on assessment and experience)
Responsibilities
* Teach and inspire learners across subjects within the built environment.
* Deliver scheduled teaching, prepare learning materials, and mark students’ work.
* Attend awarding body liaison, exam invigilation and support educational guidance, counselling and student support.
* Participate in marketing, planning, assessment and evaluation of course provision.
* Collaborate with tutors from other business areas on resources, curriculum development, student reports, and related matters.
* Produce and maintain agreed documentation such as registers, schemes of work, records, course reviews, analysis, reports and absence reports.
* Apply quality standards in teaching, support diverse learning needs and maintain knowledge of developments in the specialist area.
* Adapt quickly to changing circumstances and new ideas.
Qualifications and Experience
* Level 3 qualification in a relevant specialist area (at least).
* Preferred: qualified Teacher holding PGCE, Cert Ed, C&G 7407, or willingness to work towards one of these.
* Develop and deliver a range of learning and teaching techniques and prepare effective written and visual materials.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, team player, energetic and enthusiastic.
* Proficient in MS Office; ideally with Google applications and internet/intranet use.
* Welsh language skills essential for this post (applicants must speak Welsh or be willing to develop skills).
* Enhanced DBS with Barred List check required; disclosure of all cautions and convictions required.
* May need to register with the Education Workforce Council depending on position.
