Role: Finance Manager

About the Role:
We’re seeking a highly organised and detail-focused Finance Manager to join a busy central finance function within a local healthcare organisation. This is a key role responsible for overseeing group-wide financial reporting, ensuring robust month-end processes, and maintaining a strong financial control environment.
You’ll work closely with the CFO and Financial Controller, leading on consolidation, reporting, financial planning, and continuous improvement across the department. This position also includes management responsibility for a Finance Analyst, ensuring the delivery of accurate, timely, and compliant financial outputs.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage the full month-end process for multiple trading entities, ensuring all variances are investigated and explained.
• Produce consolidated group reporting, including monthly P&L, balance sheet, and cashflow statements.
• Maintain accurate accounting records across all group entities, ensuring timely reconciliations and compliance with financial policies.
• Generate monthly reporting packs on schedule, providing meaningful insight and commentary.
• Oversee intercompany reconciliations and ensure balances are cleared monthly.
• Review all balance sheet reconciliations, identifying issues early and driving corrective actions.
• Implement and enhance financial controls and processes to support continuous improvement.
• Support payroll activities when required, ensuring compliance across pensions, PAYE, and statutory documentation.
• Line manage a Finance Analyst, holding monthly 1–2–1s and providing ongoing guidance, coaching, and development.
• Contribute to budgeting and forecasting activities, working closely with senior finance leadership to meet key deadlines.
• Assist in preparing statutory accounts, compliance submissions, banking returns, and other required financial reporting.
• Prepare quarterly VAT returns and ensure all associated payments are made on time.
• Maintain and update procedure notes to support internal and external audit requirements.
• Support modernisation projects and financial system upgrades, working closely with the CFO.
• Provide ad hoc financial support and analysis as required.
About You:
• Qualified or Qualified by Experience (ACCA/CIMA/ACA)
• Strong bookkeeping, management accounting, and financial reporting experience.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles, financial controls, and reconciliation processes.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and provide meaningful insight.
• Experience working with integrated finance systems (NetSuite experience desirable).
• Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and organisational skills.
• Ability to work to tight deadlines, prioritise effectively, and operate with minimal supervision.
• Confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate across departments.
• Proactive, adaptable, and able to manage competing priorities in a fast-moving environment.
• Experience supervising or supporting junior team members is advantageous.
