As a Senior Category Specialist, you will lead, direct and coordinate a programme of sourcing activity, ensuring effective contract and supplier relationship management to maximise value for money and deliver targeted savings across the assigned categories / sub-categories. You will provide advice and guidance to support the framework members, category team members and Service Area staff with respect to procurement procedures and processes.
1. Delivering targeted savings and improved value for money
2. Developing category plans and sourcing strategies and drive associated change management initiatives
3. Ensuring specifications and contracts are in place that deliver the strategic objectives and which support Service Area service delivery
4. Ensuring contract and supplier management,mensurate with value and risk, are in place across the category group
5. Developing procurement and category knowledge to effectively support the delivery of category management, whilst ensuring a high degree of skills transfer is built into the category management through knowledge sharing and skills development
6. Supporting Service Areas in implementing key activities within the approved strategic sourcing solution
7. Ensuring thepleteness, accuracy and timeliness of tender and contract documentation within assigned categories
This is a full-time and permanent vacancy, paying up to £40777 plus benefits. Hybrid working policies are in place.
