Ergonomist Location: Broughton Contract: 12 months Rate: Negotiable DOE Overview Provide ergonomics/HF support to manufacturing processes, assembly and tooling. Reduce ergonomic risk, influence design decisions and support compliance across engineering, operations and H&S. Responsibilities Analyse assembly/installation work for ergonomic risk Recommend mitigation and implement ergonomic action plans Influence design/tooling to embed “design for manufacture” and user-centred principles Support specifications, tenders and supplier engagement for HF work packages Ensure compliance with HF standards and legislation; track emerging guidance Produce concise reports and brief stakeholders Support ergonomics initiatives across other sites as needed Essential Skills Degree (or higher) in Ergonomics / Human Factors (CIEHF-accredited education) Registered or working toward Registered Membership (CIEHF or equivalent) Strong understanding of HF/ergonomics, ideally in aerospace or similar manufacturing context Experience assessing ergonomic risks and proposing practical mitigations in industrial settings Proficient with assessment tools, standards and technical reporting Effective communicator able to influence engineering stakeholders; able to work autonomously Desirable Prior experience in industrial/manufacturing engineering environments Experience with outsourced HF packages / supplier oversight
