Psychology Graduate – KS2 Learning Support Assistant
Role Overview
Location: Liverpool L13
Contract: Part‑time
Phase: KS2 (Year 3 – Year 6)
Are you a Psychology Graduate with a strong interest in child development, learning, and wellbeing? Are you looking to gain hands‑on experience supporting pupils academically, emotionally, and socially within a KS2 setting?
Milk Education is recruiting Psychology Graduates to work as Learning Support Assistants in mainstream primary schools across Liverpool. This role is ideal for graduates considering future careers in Educational Psychology, Child Psychology, Speech and Language Therapy, or Occupational Therapy.
You will work closely with class teachers, SENCOs, and support staff to help pupils overcome barriers to learning during this key stage of their education.
Key Responsibilities
1. Provide 1:1 and small‑group support to KS2 pupils
2. Support children with additional needs, including SEND, SEMH, ADHD, and speech & language needs
3. Assist pupils with emotional regulation, concentration, and social interaction
4. Support the delivery of English (reading, writing, comprehension) and Maths
5. Encourage positive behaviour, independence, and engagement in learning
6. Adapt learning activities to meet individual pupil needs
7. Observe, monitor, and record progress and behaviour accurately
8. Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and the SENCO
9. Help create a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment
What We’re Looking For
10. A degree in Psychology or a related subject (essential)
11. A strong interest in child development, behaviour, and educational psychology
12. Experience working with children or young people (schools, tutoring, clubs, care, or volunteering) – desirable but not essential
13. A calm, patient, and resilient approach
14. Strong communication and observation skills
15. Commitment to providing consistent and reliable support
