The core responsibilities of the Salaried GP include: Delivering safe, effective and patient-centred medical care to our patients Providing services in accordance with the GMS contract Managing chronic and acute conditions in line with current best practice and national guidance Prescribing safely and cost-effectively in accordance with local and national policies Undertaking clinical administration in a timely manner, including referrals, prescriptions, correspondence and results management Participating in triage, actioning online requests through Anima and duty doctor sessions on a rotational basis Maintaining accurate and contemporaneous clinical records Working collaboratively to support equitable workload distribution across the clinical team Contributing to quality improvement, clinical audit, QOF and governance activities Participating in practice meetings and wider service development initiatives Supporting teaching, training and mentoring activities where appropriate Maintaining compliance with appraisal, revalidation and continuing professional development requirements Promoting a culture of teamwork, learning and continuous improvement across the practice Additional responsibilities may include: Participation in clinical audits and significant event reviews Supporting local and PCN-led service initiatives Contributing to service redesign and innovation projects Person Specification
Qualifications
GMC registered GP Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or equivalent Inclusion on the NHS Performers List MRCGP Experience
Experience working within primary care/general practice Commitment to continuing professional development Understanding of QOF, clinical audit and the GMS contract Strong clinical, communication and organisational skills Involvement in ICB or PCN-led initiatives Experience in enhanced services or specialist clinics Experience with using SystmOne Disclosure and Barring Service Check
