RBW's ambitions to truly "excel in payments", leading a team to set the strategy in relation to Digital Assets and Currencies, and ensuring customers and our organisation are ready for this evolution. This role’s key responsibilities include developing domestic payment solutions to facilitate agentic commerce, establishing UK RBW's strategy on digital assets and currencies, and executing this strategy both internally and through industry and regulatory interactions with the aim of driving safe, customer‑centric growth of digital assets and currencies.
Responsibilities
* Leadership and Engagement: Provide leadership that embeds the UK WPB strategic ambitions while driving team engagement.
* Role Modelling and Alignment: Act as a senior leader, role‑modeling leadership principles and ensuring alignment with HSBC culture and values.
* High‑Performing Team: Build and maintain a high‑performing team capable of articulating and executing a clear strategic vision.
* Talent and Succession Planning: Ensure talent and succession plans are effectively in place to support long‑term objectives.
* Champion Inclusivity: Cultivate an inclusive environment that reflects HSBC's brand and supports diverse perspectives and collaboration.
* Manage Industry Relationships: Engage with key industry bodies (e.g., BOE, UK Finance, FCA, HMT) to strengthen relationships and leverage market insights for strategic advantage.
Qualifications
* Significant expertise in Digital Assets and Currencies: Possess a deep understanding of digital products, regulatory environments and technology requirements essential for scaling these assets for retail customers.
* Strategic Direction and Stakeholder Engagement: Ability to set strategic directions for the organisation, galvanise stakeholders beyond direct management lines and ensure effective delivery across the matrix.
* Leadership in Industry Engagements: Lead industry engagements to secure favourable outcomes across the Payments landscape, ensuring alignment with industry standards and expectations.
* Network Building and Relationship Management: Build effective networks across business areas, fostering relationships based on mutual trust and encouraging others to do the same.
* Presentation and Communication Skills: Present complex issues confidently and concisely to a diverse range of stakeholders, including executives and regulators, using simple language to ensure clarity and understanding.
* Adaptability and Pressure Management: Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in rapidly changing environments, effectively managing tasks that are restricted, unpredictable and wide‑ranging.
