Job Description:
An engaging and knowledgeable Humanities Teacher with a passion for either History or Geography is sought by a well-regarded Independent co-educational school in Barnet. The successful candidate will inspire students across Key Stages 3 and 4 with the study of the human past and the world around them.
Responsibilities
* Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Humanities Teacher lessons, primarily focusing on either History or Geography at Key Stages 3 and 4.
* Foster a stimulating learning environment that encourages critical thinking, inquiry, and a deeper understanding of the human experience and the world.
* Assess and monitor student progress in Humanities, providing insightful feedback to support their learning and development in the chosen specialism.
* Contribute to the development of the Humanities curriculum and resources within the school.
Requirements
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent with a specialism in History or Geography.
* Demonstrated experience teaching Humanities (History and/or Geography) at Key Stages 3 and 4.
* A strong and comprehensive knowledge of either historical concepts and periods or geographical concepts and processes.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of inspiring a passion for the humanities in students.
* Access to a wide range of resources to support the teaching of History and Geography.
* Opportunities for continuous professional development in humanities education.
