Overview
NRL are currently recruiting an Assistant / Junior / Graduate Quantity Surveyor on a Permanent basis in the North East. A leading Electrical and Mechanical Building Services Contractor delivering high-quality engineering solutions across commercial, healthcare, and Industrial sectors. With a strong pipeline of projects and a reputation for excellence, we are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join growing commercial team.
Responsibilities
* Assist in the preparation of cost estimates, budgets, and tender submissions
* Support procurement of subcontractors and suppliers, including issuing enquiries and evaluating quotations
* Measure and value works on-site, including variations and change orders
* Assist in preparing interim valuations and final accounts
* Maintain accurate records of project costs and contractual correspondence
* Support the Senior QS in preparing monthly cost reports and forecasts
* Liaise with project managers, engineers, and site teams to ensure commercial objectives are met
* Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and company procedures
* Attend site meetings and contribute to project reviews
Qualifications
* Degree or HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management (or working towards)
* Strong numerical and analytical skills
* Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other commercial software
* Understanding of M&E systems and terminology
* Full UK driving licence
