Job Description
Summary of Position
You will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to our residents, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met. You will assist with personal care, daily activities, and other essential services, all while maintaining the dignity and comfort of residents in a luxurious and supportive environment.
A mix of day shifts 7.30am/8am-3.30pm/4pm and evenings 4.30pm-9pm- 16 hours per week
Must be able to work alternate weekends
Do not need to be car drivers as all care completed on site
Primary Responsibilities
Personal Care & Support
* Where required, assist residents with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting, while respecting their dignity and privacy.
* Support residents with medications in accordance with prescribed instructions, ensuring medication records are accurate.
Daily Activities & Social Engagement
* Encourage residents to maintain their independence and take part in activities, promoting positive social interactions among residents, fostering a sense of community and companionship.
Health & Wellbeing
* Monitor residents' health and wellbeing, reporting any changes or concerns to the Senior Carer or Domiciliary Care Manager promptly.
* Provide emotional support to residents, ensuring they feel valued, respected, and cared for at all times.
Record Keeping & Communication
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date care records, ensuring all information is documented in accordance with care plan requirements and regulatory standards.
* Communicate effectively with residents, their families, and the wider care team to ensure continuity and consistency of care.
* Report any concerns regarding residents' health, wellbeing, or safety to the Senior Carer or Domiciliary Care Manager.
Person Specification (Qualifications and training, work experience and knowledge, qualities and attitude)
Essential
* A genuine passion for providing high-quality care to older adults.
* A caring and compassionate nature with the ability to maintain residents' dignity and respect.
* Ability to work well as part of a team and communicate effectively with residents, families, and colleagues.
* Willingness to undertake training and development as required.
Desirable
* Previous experience in a care assistant role, ideally in a retirement village, nursing home, or healthcare setting (though not essential).
* A good understanding of CQC regulations and how they impact care delivery.
* NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care is desirable but not essential.
Other Requirements
* A valid enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check.
* Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holiday shifts as required.
