Job overview
We are looking for an inspirational and strategic Head of Maths to lead our Mathematics department in Deeside. You will bring energy, vision and a clear passion for mathematics, with the ability to inspire both learners and staff.
You will be responsible for leading and developing the Mathematics curriculum, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning across the department, and driving improvements in learner outcomes. Working closely with senior leaders, you will play a key role in shaping curriculum design, supporting staff development, and embedding effective pedagogy across the department.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to raising standards in numeracy and problem-solving, whilst fostering a love of mathematics that engages and motivates learners of all abilities.
The right candidate will have:
Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent qualification
A relevant degree in Mathematics or a related subject
Proven experience of excellent classroom practice
The ability to lead, inspire and develop a team of teachers
Strong understanding of curriculum design and assessment within Mathematics
A commitment to raising standards and improving outcomes for all learners
Evidence of commitment to continuing professional development
The ability to promote high standards of numeracy across the wider school community
