We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity to join our innovative Podiatry Department within Salford Care Organisation which is part of the Northern Care Alliance.

Our service benefits from excellent collaborative relationships with Diabetology, Rheumatology, Orthopaedics, and Vascular teams, enabling truly holistic patient management.
Main duties of the job
To undertake clinical assessment, considering all relevant information and clinical reasoning to formulate evidence based individualised treatment plans in agreement with the patient.
To work autonomously to manage a defined patient caseload whilst working as part of a multidisciplinary team, referring to a senior clinician when required.
To contribute to the delivery of the service in a variety of defined clinical settings, which may include in-patient wards, out-patient and community clinics and the patient's home.
To ensure the safe and timely discharge of patients from the caseload using defined service criteria, liaising with other agencies as required.
Work with patients and clients requiring biomechanical examinations and orthotics, using knowledge of biomechanical and pathomechanical conditions and referring on to a specialist as necessary.
Patient safety and safe provision of care must be ensured at all times identifying all risk factors. The post holder is responsible for the safe assessment, diagnosis, planning and treatment of podiatric pathologies for patients who may have a high risk of significant complications such as necrosis, ulceration, and loss of limb, musculoskeletal and rheumatic diseases.
To develop knowledge of evidence‑based practice and implement in work area with guidance.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* oDegree or equivalent in qualification in Podiatric Medicine
* oLocal anaesthesia certificate
Registration
* oRegistration with HCPC
Knowledge
* oBroad knowledge of routine and high‑risk patient care e.g. diabetes, peripheral vascular disease and wound care. Gained through graduate study and work experience/clinical placement.
* oKnowledge of relevant national guidance
* Knowledge of clinical audit and research
Experience
* oExperience of undertaking Nail Surgery and knowledge of Anaphylaxis management
* oExperience of assessment, diagnosis, treatment and management of a range of foot disorders
