This varied secretarial role is to support Consultant Medical Oncologists and their teams with communication, administrative and secretarial tasks. Whilst also providing support to our patients, assisting with their queries and concerns and engaging with the wider clinical team and other key stakeholders such as GPs, etc. Responding to these queries in a timely manner to maintain a responsive service. The main duties will include: typing of clinics and general correspondence, complex diary management and provision of patient data. Dealing with correspondence from patients, GPs and other sources, including the scheduling of appointments, to ensure referral to treatment targets are met.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, a minimum of two years recent secretarial/admin experience. Together with proficient typing skills, particularly in audio‑typing and have experience of digital dictation. Knowledge of medical terminology would be advantageous. To be successful in the post you must be well organised, able to prioritise your own workload in a fast paced environment and work independently to meet strict deadlines. We require an efficient and resilient team player who upholds our Trust Values and has a flexible approach to work, with a willingness to learn and meet the challenges of a fast paced speciality to drive service improvement.
