Role Overview
We are currently recruiting for an Air Source Heat Pump Installer to join a growing Renewable Energy team delivering low-carbon heating solutions across Cornwall. This is a permanent, full-time position installing Air Source Heat Pumps and associated renewable heating systems within occupied residential properties.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, commissioning and handover of Air Source Heat Pump systems, ensuring all works are completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced plumbing and heating engineer looking to develop a long-term career within the rapidly expanding renewable energy sector.
Key Responsibilities
Installing Air Source Heat Pump systems in domestic properties
Completing heating system upgrades and associated plumbing works
Installing hot water cylinders, pipework, radiators and ancillary equipment
Carrying out system commissioning, testing and customer handovers
Working from technical drawings, specifications and installation designs
Ensuring all installations comply with manufacturer guidelines and industry standards
Diagnosing and resolving installation issues on-site
Maintaining accurate job records and installation documentation
Working safely within occupied homes while delivering excellent customer service
Ensuring tools, materials and equipment are maintained and used correctly
Supporting quality assurance inspections and remedial works where required
Maintaining company vehicles and equipment in line with company procedures
Attending team meetings, toolbox talks and training sessions as required
Requirements
Essential Skills & Experience
Previous experience installing Air Source Heat Pumps or renewable heating systems
NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Plumbing & Heating or equivalent qualification
Strong understanding of domestic heating systems and plumbing installations
Experience working within occupied residential properties
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and installation specifications
Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills
Strong communication and customer service skills
Understanding of Health & Safety procedures and safe working practices
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Full UK Driving Licence
Willingness to undergo a DBS check
Desirable Experience
MCS installation experience
Unvented Hot Water Qualification (G3)
F-Gas Certification
Experience working on social housing or retrofit projects
Knowledge of PAS 2030/PAS 2035 requirements
Renewable energy installation experience including Solar PV or Battery Storage
CSCS Card
