Overview
Crawley College, part of the Chichester College Group, is seeking a Lecturer in Travel and Tourism. This pro rata role offers 32.5 hours per week, 52 weeks per year, with a salary pro rata of £27,785 - £43,325 per annum (i.e. £24,405.74 - £38,055.74), plus £535.81 Crawley Weighting Allowance. The post is based at Crawley College.
Responsibilities
* Deliver an outstanding quality of teaching, learning and assessment primarily to Travel and Tourism students.
* Develop the area by working with students from E3 level to Level 3 to ensure their best progress.
* Build and maintain excellent relationships with the Travel and Tourism industry to raise the College’s profile in the community.
* Recruit students and provide advice and guidance on progression routes.
* Develop industry links that provide enrichment and work experience opportunities.
* Track and monitor student progress to ensure timely completion and achievement.
* Manage own workload effectively; demonstrate qualifications and work experience relevant to the subject area.
* Communicate effectively with parents, employers and College colleagues.
* Support learners with additional needs and deliver high quality, challenging learning experiences using varied teaching and learning strategies.
Qualifications
* Experience in Travel and Tourism with a background in training or teaching within the travel industry.
* Well‑organised with the ability to manage workload and meet deadlines.
* Proven communication skills and the ability to liaise with parents, employers and colleagues.
* Relevant qualifications for the subject area to be taught.
