Pastoral Manager – Secondary School

Salary:£120 – £160 per day (dependent on experience)
Contract Type:Full-time, term time only
We are currently seeking an experienced and compassionate Pastoral Manager to join a supportive secondary school in Bolton from September 2026.
This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated pastoral professional who is passionate about supporting young people, promoting positive behaviour, and helping students overcome barriers to learning.
The Role
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting student wellbeing, behaviour, attendance, and safeguarding across the school. Working closely with senior leaders, teaching staff, parents, and external agencies, you will help create a positive and inclusive learning environment for all pupils.
Key responsibilities include:
* Supporting students with behavioural, emotional, and social needs
* Managing pastoral interventions and behaviour support plans
* Promoting positive behaviour and attendance
* Liaising with parents, carers, and external professionals
* Supporting safeguarding and student welfare procedures
* Providing mentoring and guidance to vulnerable students
* Assisting with reintegration and inclusion support strategies
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
* Previous experience working within a secondary school pastoral or behaviour role
* Strong behaviour management and communication skills
* Experience supporting students with SEMH or additional needs
* A calm, resilient, and empathetic approach
* Knowledge of safeguarding procedures within education
* The ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
