Based in Belfast, the team operates a hybrid working model, with office-based collaboration currently on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
Your new role
As Policy and Engagement Officer, you’ll be a key member of the Policy and Engagement team, reporting to the Policy and Research Lead and Head of Policy. You’ll be the first point of contact for stakeholders and service users, offering guidance and signposting to relevant services, including financial redress schemes. You’ll manage sensitive enquiries with professionalism and empathy, ensuring all data is handled securely and in line with legislation.
Your responsibilities will include:
1. Providing trauma-informed support and guidance to individuals and stakeholders.
2. Managing and recording engagement data using a case management system.
3. Drafting policy briefings, reports, andmunications materials.
4. Supporting research and evidence gathering to inform policy development.
5. Monitoring media and political developments relevant to the organisation’s remit.
6. Producing statistical reports and contributing tomunications strategy.
7. Supporting the setup and coordination of an Advisory Panel.
What you'll need to succeed
8. Experience working in an engagement role with client groups with a knowledge of trauma informed practice
9. Experience of policy development and of drafting materials, with a high standard of written work, such as briefings and papers
10. Experience of identifying and drawing on evidence and research to support policy development
11. Experience of managing data including personal data to the highest standards
12. Experience of draftingmunication materials for different stakeholder audiences
13. Experience of generating reports from statistical data
14. Experience of building positive working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders
15. Working positively with colleagues and partners to meet organisationalmitments and deliver results
16. Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage workloads and react accordingly to short notice requests
17. Excellentputer skills, especially in information management tools and software, and in presenting data in a variety of formats on request.
18. A working knowledge of the role of media (including social media), the political landscape, and how these intersect with high profile andplex subject matters.

19. Experience of working in an engagement role with victims and survivors or vulnerable groups.
