Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
Lead, inspire, and develop the kitchen team, fostering a culture of excellence, respect, and continuous learning.
Recruit, train, and mentor chefs at all levels to maintain consistency and professionalism.
Oversee kitchen schedules, rota planning, and labour cost management.
Culinary Excellence
Design and execute innovative seasonal menus that reflect the restaurants style and ethos.
Ensure every dish leaving the pass meets exacting presentation and flavour standards.
Maintain consistency across all services while allowing creativity and refinement.
Keep up to date with culinary trends and techniques, ensuring the restaurant remains a leader in its field.
Operations & Compliance
Manage stock levels, supplier relationships, and ordering to achieve cost-effective purchasing.
Maintain accurate GP targets and control kitchen budgets.
Ensure full compliance with food hygiene, safety, and allergen regulations.
Oversee kitchen maintenance, cleanliness, and organisation.
Collaboration & Guest Experience
Work closely with the front-of-house team to ensure smooth service and guest satisfaction.
Participate in menu tastings, events, and special promotions.
Represent the restaurants culinary vision at industry events or media opportunities when required.
Skills & Experience
Proven experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef in a high-end or award-winning restaurant.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
Exceptional culinary skills and a refined palate, with a passion for flavour, technique, and presentation.
Excellent organisational, financial, and time management abilities.
Deep understanding of kitchen operations, health and safety standards, and food cost management.
A creative, hands-on approach and a genuine passion for hospitality and excellence.
