The Role
As an AI Engineer, you’ll be responsible for designing, building, and deploying AI-powered solutions that solve real-world challenges across telecommunications and utility services.
Working closely with engineering, technology, operations, and product teams, you’ll take ideas from concept through to production, helping build intelligent systems that improve operational efficiency, automate processes, enhance customer interactions, and support critical business decisions.
This is far more than an implementation role. You’ll have the opportunity to influence technical direction, experiment with emerging technologies, and play a key role in how AI is embedded across the organisation.
What You’ll Be Doing
1. Building and deploying AI-powered applications and services
2. Developing LLM and generative AI solutions using modern frameworks
3. Designing agentic workflows and intelligent automation capabilities
4. Building scalable APIs and services for AI products
5. Creating RAG pipelines and knowledge-driven AI applications
6. Working closely with business and technology stakeholders to identify AI opportunities
7. Integrating AI solutions into customer-facing and internal platforms
8. Supporting AI use cases across network operations, customer service, field engineering, and business functions
9. Evaluating emerging AI technologies and driving adoption where appropriate
10. Monitoring, optimising, and improving production AI systems
What We’re Looking For
11. Commercial experience building and deploying AI solutions
12. Strong Python engineering experience
13. Hands-on experience with LLMs and modern AI frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, LlamaIndex, OpenAI, Anthropic or similar
14. Experience building AI agents, copilots, or workflow automation tools
15. Knowledge of vector databases, RAG architectures, and prompt engineering
16. Experience working with AWS, Azure, or GCP
17. Strong software engineering fundamentals and experience delivering production-grade systems
18. Experience working with large-scale operational or infrastructure-focused environments is advantageous
19. Comfortable operating within a fast-paced environment where priorities can evolve quickly
20. Strong communication skills and the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders
