Management Accountant - (Insurance)
The Opportunity:
We are partnering with a growing insurance business in London looking to hire a Part-Qualified Management Accountant to join their finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious finance professional looking to develop within a fast-paced and collaborative environment, gaining broad exposure across management accounting, reporting, business partnering, and month-end processes.
The role will suit someone currently studying towards ACCA/CIMA and looking to further their experience within the insurance or wider financial services sector.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts, including Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet reporting
* Prepare journal entries including accruals, prepayments, intercompany, and reclassifications
* Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances
* Support month-end and year-end close processes to ensure timely reporting
* Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes
* Prepare cash flow reporting and support treasury-related activities
* Work closely with Accounts Payable and operational teams to ensure accurate financial reporting
* Support external audit processes and provide required documentation
* Assist with regulatory and statutory reporting requirements where required
* Analyse financial data and provide commentary on business performance
* Contribute to process improvement initiatives and finance transformation projects
* Support ad hoc finance projects and reporting requests from senior stakeholders
Candidate Profile:
* Part-qualified ACCA or CIMA
* Previous experience within a management accounting or finance role
* Insurance or financial services experience preferred but not essential
* Strong understanding of month-end processes and reconciliations
* Good Excel skills and confidence working with finance systems
* Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities
* Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams
* Proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop
