Social Worker - Ageing Well Team
Salary: £39,125‑£45,091 per year. Job type: Permanent. Location: Southend‑on‑Sea.
Ackerman Pierce is supporting a leading local authority in Southend to recruit a Social Worker for the Ageing Well Team on a permanent basis. The role offers flexible working hours and a supportive team culture with regular supervision. Main duties include:
* To support citizens across Southend‑on‑Sea (including out‑of‑borough cases) with the aim to offer the appropriate support in the right place at the right time.
* To understand individuals’ strengths, assets and wishes to maximise their potential for independence, recognising the importance of assuming that the individual is best placed to know their own outcomes, goals and wellbeing.
* To undertake assessments and to support individuals to develop personalised care plans that take account of community assets, informal networks, universal services and other support and provision which reduces dependency.
* To work with health and social care colleagues and other partners by engaging in innovative practice and a visionary approach to creating a better Southend.

Minimum Requirements:
* SWE Registration
* 1 year post‑qualifying experience within the UK Social Care industry
* Enhanced DBS/CRB (available for you)
* Eligibility to work in the UK
* Full driving licence and access to your own vehicle
Knowledge & Experience
* Qualified as a Social Worker in the last six months and/or practising as a Qualified Social Worker in a relevant setting.
* Relevant experience of applying the Care Act (2014), Mental Capacity Act (2005) and managing adult safeguarding enquiries.
* Ability to apply a strengths‑based, asset‑based approach to assessment, care planning and review.
* Ability to support unqualified staff with their development as required, including student social workers on placement.
