Subject to formal establishment amendment, a vacancy may arise for a Flight Lieutenant (Any Profession) to serve as Executive Officer (XO) Covesea Flight at Royal Air Force Lossiemouth on Additional Duties Commitment 180 Day Terms and Conditions of Service (TCoS), with an initial proposed start date being on or before 01 March 2026. However, the new incumbent will not be recruited into the post until the post is vacated. The XO position falls under the direction of OC Covesea Flight, and is to oversee the management of SNCO, AO, and JNCO Business Support and to ensure all processes and associated actions are completed on time. The post will also consist of the following: a. Support the welfare needs of all Covesea Flight personnel, with particular emphasis on Phase 2 and 3 trainees, and mobilised personnel. b. Ensure that all capitation, bounty and HDT costs fall within the approved allocation for the FY. This includes overseeing the F7301 each month, and conducting percentage checks, to ensure RSDs are accurately tracked/reviewed, updated and costs are correct. c. Review and manage Covesea Flight Reserve Support Requests (RSRs), including the initial allocation of Reserves Service Days (RSDs) iaw with current policy, ensure RSRs are “good value for money” prior to submission to OC Covesea Flt / Supply Fusion C1 for approval. d. Administer RSD extension requests, age waivers and produce costings for RSD extensions for both PTVR and VeRR personnel. All submissions are to fall within current policy prior to submission to 2 Gp Reserves for SO1 Reserves Support approval. e. Coordinate admin support to all PTVR and VeRR personnel whilst they are employed on task. This includes visits to PTVR, VeRR, and Task Sponsors during the terms of the RSR to review progress, performance, and utilisation with a target of covering 25% of RSRs in a FY. f. Promote recruitment to the Reserves iaw R&S ATTRACT policy through advertising, attendance at recruiting events, etc. g. Responsible for resolving policy queries with Higher Authority. h. Deliver as required activity reports, to OC BSW for Command Group and Workforce Requirements Committee, Res Cap and 2 Gp Reserves HQ. i. Attend meetings and briefs as required by OC Covesea Flt. j. Maintain links with other BSGs to glean useful information/share best practice. k. Where appropriate and in support of, AO Business Support / SRSW undertake attestation of PTVR and VeRR into the RAF Reserves. Support other units and TCoS with attestation of locally positioned personnel. l. Where required, act as 1RO for SNCO Business Support, SNCO Delivery, counter-signing officer for AO Business Support, and 2RO for AS1 Business Support.
