Overview
Bettys & Taylors of Harrogate is hiring a Product Developer to join our Product Development and Innovation team at Bettys Craft Bakery. We develop and improve, make, bake and distribute our Bettys products that delight customers and uphold our Swiss Yorkshire heritage.
This is a full-time role, 37.5 hours over 5 days with some early morning shifts. If you would like to discuss flexible working / working patterns, please provide more details in your application.
Responsibilities
* End-to-end process of developing and launching new and existing catering, retail, and bakery products, as well as raw materials.
* Ensure every product meets our craft standards, commercial and operational goals.
* Collaborate with development, production, and quality teams to deliver products that consistently delight our customers.
* Support product/menu development timelines, collaborating across departments to ensure all products are delivered on time and within schedule.
* Trial and approve new raw materials and processes prior to bakery launch and coordinate initial production runs for new products, offering training and expert guidance as needed.
Qualifications
* Excellent in-depth technical food knowledge of ingredients and Bakery techniques.
* Practical experience of product development processes (make and bake) and an understanding of the key requirements to develop a product from a new idea through to the finished product.
* NVQ or City & Guilds Bakery Diploma - Level 3 plus or equivalent.
* The candidate must be able to demonstrate high levels of skills and craft throughout their experience.
* Qualified in Food Safety Level 2 and a good understanding of food safety and health and safety.
* Excellent skills with Microsoft Office and a willingness to use and learn other software systems. HG, IFS & Stevens weigh system ideally.
* Level 3 HACCP (desirable).
